NEWPORT — Gather seven crack detective writers on a lonely, isolated island for a weekend house party, and what happens? Murder, of course! “The Butler Did It” by Tim Kelly parodies every English mystery play every written – with a modern American flair. Miss Maple, played by Beckah Brooks, is our eccentric hostess. Her secretary, Rita Eyelsbarrow is played by Lia Goodrich and the maid, Haversham, is played by Taylia Culver. The sleuths include: Father White played by Ayla Culver, Chandler Marlowe played by Ryan Schmidt, Louis Fan played by Russel Balow, Rick & Laura Carlyle played by Spenser Flint & Ruby Petrie, Peter Flimsey played by Jahloni Culver, and Charity Haze played by Anna Proctor. This youth production is directed by Racine Balow.

Who killed the guy in the wine cellar? Whose face appeared at the window? Who’s next? Can detective writers solve an actual crime? Come find out November 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, and 19 at the Pend Oreille Playhouse, 236 S. Union, Newport, WA. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:00 pm, Sunday shows begin at 3:00 pm.
