Sharon Lee Johnson, age 77, passed away Dec. 12, 2017, at Providence Holy Family Hospital in Spokane, Wash.
She was born August 17, 1940, in Portland, Oregon, to June Carroll (Grothen) and Joe Swallia. She was a graduate of South Kitsap High School in 1958. She married her high school sweetheart, Norman Keith Johnson, on June 16, 1959, in Port Orchard, Wash. They had three girls Debra Johnson (Bigelow), Teresa Johnson (Brooks) and Brenda Johnson (Vessells). Sharon and Norm operated a family printing business together, J&J Printers, Inc. and enjoyed traveling. Sharon was widowed in 2009.
Sharon was kind and giving and helped others surreptitiously. She was well-known for hosting family gatherings with an abundance of food and fun. She had a dry sense of humor that took everyone by surprise and brought deep belly laughter. She was sensitive and was a generous listener.
She is survived by her three children, seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren, Brother Dick Grothen, Sister Tam Lowrey, Brother Larry Bonds, Brother Roger Grothen, Brother Joe Swallia Jr., and Brother John Swallia.
