Lady Grizzlies drop two at home to Lakeside, St. George’s

NEWPORT — The Lady Grizzlies lost to Lakeside 55-29 here Jan. 12, and lost to St. George’s here 52-22 Jan. 13. Newport struggled to keep pace in the matchup with Lakeside through all four quarters. Leslie led with 10 points for Newport. In their matchup with St. George’s, Newport fell behind 33-6 at the half but surprisingly put together a solid third quarter in which they outscored their opponents 10-7. Robinson led Newport scorers with 10 points.
