Priest River rides big first half to win, 39-35

REPUBLIC, Wash. - The Spartans beat Republic 39-35 here Jan. 19. The boys from Priest River took advantage of Republic in the second quarter, where they turned a two-point lead into a 13-point halftime lead. Republic challenged Priest River in the second half, but by the fourth quarter neither team was able to score efficiently and the Spartans held on for the win. Dylan Johnson led the Spartans with 16 points. Keegan Hegel added nine, Dausen O’Brien contributed six, Brandon McCracken notched four, and both Ronnie Downs and Dylan Glazier scored two points.
