COEUR D’ALENE — The North Idaho Rumble here Jan. 26-27 was extremely tough for the Priest River Lamanna High School team, said wrestling head coach Jesse Hellinger. Manuel Naccarato went down with an unspecified injury that will require surgery and is done for the season, said Hellinger. However, the coach said the up-and-coming wrestler will be fine. Riley DeMent finished sixth in what Hellinger said was an extremely tough 140 lb. weight class. Brandon Downs suffered a tough loss in the medal round. Spartan wrestler Arron Reyes placed fourth after making it to the semifinals.

The Spartan wrestling team also competed in a dual with American Falls Jan. 25. Though the team lost the dual by points due to forfeits, Downs, Naccarato, Reyes, and Truxton Wilson won their matches. DeMent and Larry Naccarato won theirs by forfeit. Graden Hanes, Devin Nessel, and Peyton Spegal competed in hard-fought battles, added Hellinger.
